For Eva Amurri, finding the perfect wedding dress was a lot like finding the perfect mate.

“I tried on a ton of dresses and it was a weird,bridesmaid dresses 2011, long process,” the actress, who is engaged to Fox Soccer Channel commentator Kyle Martino, told PEOPLE at the Ella Moss 10th Anniversary Party in Los Angeles last week. “I thought that I might like a certain one but I wasn’t really sold. Then I tried on my dress and I just fell in love with it. It’s almost like dating: ‘I think this is the guy,’ and then you actually meet the guy and you’re like, ‘I don’t know what I thinking about that [other] guy.’”
